Furniture Made for Real Life

Furniture Made for Real Life

It's pretty incredible that furniture has had such an amazing evolution. It started as purely functional... homes were built by crossing giant logs over each other and nailing them into place. If they stayed sturdy through the course of a New England winter, life was considered a success. You needed a place to sit during a holiday feast? Pop a squat on the closest log and hope for the best.

Fast track through history, and like so many other industries, furniture learned and grew, thanks to the help of innovative artists. We've been through periods when furniture looked like it was designed and built from spun silk, so light and fragile that it just might break with the lightest touch. We've been through periods when furniture has been multi-purpose-- the bed-cum-chair-cum-desk-cum-racecar. It's truly inspiring as artists and craftsman to not only look back at where we've been, but imagine what will be possible in the future.

That being said, we like it when art imitates life. And that's why any piece of furniture that you find at Decibel Designs will be made as art, but made for life. We want our bookcases to be filled with novels and short stories that you devour every rainy afternoon. We want our CD holders to be chock-a-block with all of the hits that get you through every emotion. We want to know that the furniture at Decibel Designs is just a character in a story about your life.

We thank you for checking out our page, and hope that we can build something for you, with which you can create generations of memories to come.
