Spring Cleaning 101

Posted by Jenna Levy on 29th Mar 2017

Decibel looks forward to each season. Winter- you've got an abundance of holidays to celebrate on the calendar, Fall- three months of sports and comfort foods, what's not to like? Summer brings long days, short nights and tan lines. And then there's spring. Decibel is a huge proponent of spring. You can finally kick off your winter gear, and tentatively bring out the short-sleeved shirts. It's a season of fresh starts and new beginnings. And for many, it's time to herald in...spring cleaning!

With books like spark joy and the life-changing magic of tidying up making a huge splash, it's no surprise that spring cleaning is finally getting the love that it (may or may not) deserves. But for those who are still a bit apprehensive, we're here to share three ways for you to rock spring cleaning this year:

  1. Make a plan, and stick to it. We recommend that you make a list of all that you want to accomplish. Give yourself a reward that you can work towards, so you have even more incentive to get the job done.
  2. Dig out your spring cleaning clothes. You're going to be around bleach and other cleaning solutions, so you probably don't want to be wearing your most fancy outfit. Have an older pair of pants and top handy each year, so that you're not worried about giving it your all.
  3. Channel your inner entrepreneur. Spring cleaning can be a great source of additional income, if you get creative. As you're combing through clothes or items that you don't need anymore, sort them into bags labeled "donate" and "sell." Look into local resale shops to see if you can make a pretty penny with your donations.

With these three nuggets in mind, you'll be well on your way to rocking your spring cleaning this year!
